LUSO Community Services is challenging residents of the city of London and surrounding area to complete 1,000 random acts of kindness in one month, from October 1 to October 31, 2009. The goal of this challenge is to help create a hate-free community by promoting kindness as a positive alternative to hatred. A random act of kindness is simply a kind act that we do for someone without being asked, like holding a door open for someone who is carrying an armload of groceries, buying a stranger a coffee, or bringing baked goods to nursing home residents.
LUSO Community Services is a multicultural, non-profit charitable organization supported by the United Way of London and Middlesex. LUSO is a provider of community social services with a holistic approach to community development that provides programs and services in the London community for children, youth, families and seniors of culturally and ethnically diverse backgrounds.
