United Way’s online registration for the 2009 StairClimb, The Climb of the Penguins, is up and running. With less than a month to go individuals and teams are encouraged to visit www.uwlondon.on.ca to register and start collecting pledges for this cool event. StairClimb is United Way’s only fundraiser and is taking place at One London Place on Thursday, November 5.
“It’s a great opportunity for the entire community to get involved,” says Andrew Lockie, CEO of United Way of London & Middlesex. “Together we have the power to create lasting change, and this event is a fun way to get involved and give back to our community. Everyone is welcome to participate”.
This year’s event is sponsored by CIBC Wood Gundy (lead sponsor for the third year in a row), A Channel, Corus Radio London, Domino’s Pizza and Sifton Properties.
Another popular fundraising event open to the community is Rainbow Cinema’s Midnight Movie Marathon. Taking place Saturday, October 17 from 11 p.m. – 12 a.m., the event has become a bit of a tradition for local movie buffs. This event is a great example of how anyone in London and Middlesex can get involved, help our community and raise funds for United Way. Event details and pledge forms are available at Rainbow Cinemas in Galleria (on the second floor; south side), online at www.rainbowcinemas.ca, United Way of London & Middlesex (409 King Street at Colborne), and online at www.uwlondon.on.ca.
