United Way of London & Middlesex launches GenNext

GenNext is an exciting new United Way initiative to engage those in their 20s and 30s in philanthropy and voluntarism in London and Middlesex County. "We hope that GenNext will lead the way for our generation to make a difference in our community," says Nawaz Tahir, volunteer chair of the GenNext Advisory Committee and partner at Lerners. "Through awareness, involvement and giving, we hope to mobilize our generation to make a positive impact in our own community."

"The volunteer leadership of our GenNext advisory committee and our working groups has been extraordinary," says Andrew Lockie, CEO, United Way of London & Middlesex. "The passion for community shown by these young leaders is inspiring, and we know it will be contagious for others in this generation once the initiative kicks off this fall."

The formal event launching GenNext will be held on Wednesday October 14, 2009, featuring Marc Kielburger Co-Founder Free The Children and Co-Founder of Me to We. Tickets are only $30 and can now be purchased on line at GenNextUW.ca..

United Way would also like to add a special thanks to rTraction Canada for their very generous support in the design and development of the new website.
